Petpal Network
|
|
| |
Petpal Network, a brainchild of Delhi NCR-based Creature Companions magazine, was launched at the India International Pet Trade Fair on 29 February 2008.
The objective of the site is to create a worldwide network of pet lovers, pet industry, pet practitioners, animal-related non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and others.
Pet lovers can share stories and experiences using the blog, or send messages to each other and to others from different categories; Entities of the
Pet Industry can interact with each other and other members (see note 1);
Pet Practitioners (veterinarians) can give advice to, and seek advice from other members;
Animal-related NGOs can interact with members and each other. All of this is done through messaging and blogs.
There is also an online store that features pet products.
Note 1: All member profiles include a short one liner about themselves or in the case of the pet industry about their business. This field of the profile is restricted to 15 words. For instance, an individual pet lover might say, “I own a pug dog named Jojo and love him a lot. Pet industry members might say, “We are manufacturers/exporters of steel products like dog bowls”; an NGO might say, “We take in stray dogs, neuter them and put them up for adoption”. If members want to advertise their products and services on the website, they can contact the administrators – we’ve got very reasonable rates.
We’re not Facebook. Let’s face it; Facebook is a big budget website. We’re just not there yet. We will, however, consider your suggestions. Got a suggestion?
Contact us with subject line “PetPal Network Suggestion”.
