Indian Dogs becoming Prone to Diabetes

NEW DELHI: Excess love and food did Romeo more harm than good. The pet Labrador suffers from diabetes, which doctors say was caused by overfeeding and lack of activity. Romeo is not the only dog suffering from a disease thought to be a human prerogative. According to veterinarians, incidents of dogs suffering from diabetes are on the rise. Breeds like Labrador, Daschund and the German Shepherd are most prone to this lifestyle disease for which, insulin shots and special packaged foods containing lower levels of carbohydrate and sugar have to be given.
